Residents in a road in Billericay have been urged to shut their windows and remain indoors after a fire has broken out at a bar and restaurant.
A police cordon is in place in A176 Laindon Road in Billericay as it is closed in both directions between A129 London Road and Noak Hill Road.
This is due to a fire at Reid's, a bar and restaurant in the road.
A spokesman for The Party House, a school club in the same road, said on Facebook: "We are aware of a fire at Reid's, please note all of the children at the Party House Billericay are safely out of the building and away from harm.
"The emergency services are here and currently on site."
