A PITSEA man has been charged with murder in connection with a missing woman from Basildon, after a body was found during a police probe.

Officers have officially charged a man with murder as part of the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of 30 year-old Madison Wright from Basildon.
Madison has not been seen or heard from since Friday, July 22.
Her car, a black Vauxhall Astra with the registration EU13 JVW, was found in Brackendale Avenue last Tuesday, July 26.
Last Friday morning, a 36 year-old man from Pitsea was arrested on suspicion of murder.
Following this, on the evening of Saturday July 30, a body was discovered in Wat Tyler Country Park in Pitsea.
Police cordoned off the country park as well as the nearby Pitsea Recycling Centre all day yesterday, with a heavy presence in the area throughout the day.

Essex Police confirmed that a man has been charged with murder following the discovery, as part of the investigation into Madison's disappearance.
Garry Bennett, 36, of Caister Drive, Pitsea has been charged with murder and will appear at Southend Magistrates' Court today, Monday, August 1.
Police added that the formal identification process of the discovered body is yet to take place but Madison’s family has been informed of the development and continue to be supported by specialist detectives.
A spokesman for Essex Police also confirmed that they are still looking to speak to anyone who has information.
They said: “We continue to urge anyone who has any information but has not yet come forward to contact us.
“In particular, we want to speak to anyone who saw Madison or her car – a black Vauxhall Astra with the registration EU13 JVW – between 8.30am on 22 July and 26 July.
