A POPULAR country park and recycling centre in Pitsea will both remain closed today following the discovery of a body.
Yesterday, a Pitsea man was charged with murder in connection with a missing woman from Basildon, after a body was found in Wat Tyler Country Park.
Madison Wright, a mother from Basildon, had not been seen or heard from since Friday, July 22.
Officers have now charged Garry Bennett, 36, with murder as part of the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of 30-year-old Madison Wright.

The formal identification process of the discovered body is yet to take place, but Madison’s family has been informed.
Wat Tyler Country Park was closed on Saturday with a police cordon put in place, and still remains closed.
Bosses at the park again confirmed last night the park will be closed the whole of today.
They said: Following on from todays earlier post, we can confirm that the park will remain closed tomorrow, Monday, August 1.
“We will update you all soon.”
Pitsea Recycling Centre, located next to the park, was closed yesterday.
The centre will also remain closed throughout today too.
Essex County Council said: “Pitsea Recycling Centre remains closed today, Monday August 1.
“Residents are encouraged to use Recycling Centres in Canvey or South Woodham Ferrers as alternatives.”
