THE crowds were thrilled to witness the speed and agility of mountain bikers as they tore through the Hadleigh Farm track, for the 2012 London Olympics.

There was sunshine for the Olympic mountain bike cross country races took place at Hadleigh Farm on 11 and 12 Augustten years ago.

20,000 spectators revelled in seeing the bikers take to the track and over at Hadleigh Castle visitors were able to take in the views from a distance.

The cycle track was designed and built by Glenn Horton and Martin Seddon and located on private farmland on the east side of the Country Park.

With a brief was to build the toughest, most technical, spectator and camera friendly Olympic mountain bike course withina 5kmloop,the track was a breath-taking feat.

The build was made more difficult as itfollowed the wettest summer since records began followed by a winter of heavy snow.
