Drivers faced long delays on the A12 in Essex after part of the road was closed following a crash.
The A12 in Essex was closed northbound between the A1023 (J12) and B1002 (J13) near Mountnessing after a crash.
Essex Police were on scene leading the incident response, and a diversion was available using the B1002.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "We're on the scene of a collision on the northbound A12 close to Mountnessing.
"The northbound carriageway is currently closed between junctions 12 and 13. Please avoid the area whilst emergency services deal with the incident.
"We will provide an update as soon as we practically can."

Essex Travel News had said the road was closed due to a "serious multi-vehicle accident and fuel spillage".
Drivers faced long delays of up to 60 minutes.
The incident has now been cleared and the road has been re-opened.
