A teenager died after suffering multiple traumatic injuries following a motorbike crash, an inquest has heard.
The inquest into the death of Harley Griggs, 15, from Billericay was opened at Essex Coroners Court in Chelmsford this morning.
He died in the crash in Billericay on July 31. Coroner’s Officer Rachel Coleman said: “I am opening the inquest into the death of Harley Griggs from Billericay. On July 31 he left his home on a motorbike and a few minutes later he crashed.

“Paramedics and helimed attended and death was confirmed and police have confirmed they are treating it as non suspicious. A post mortem was carried out and a provisional cause of death was given of multiple traumatic injuries.”
Area coroner for Essex, Sean Horstead, said: “Very sadly this case requires an inquest and therefore I formally open the inquest into the death. Collision investigation reports are required and I am adjourning the inquest to March 31 2023. I offer my sincerest condolences to the family.”
