Super smart Japanese Spitz cross Jack Russell, Toby, is looking for a dedicated family, who are keen to continue encouraging him to be the best dog he can be.
The seven-year-old is a creature of habit, who thrives in a predictable environment. He thoroughly enjoys companionship, tasty snacks and he is at his best when given the opportunity to use his super smart brain.
Toby has lots of love to offer but he isn't a 'lap dog' and prefers to interact with his people by doing fun activities together, playing with squeaky toys, going for walks or participating in training, rather than receiving affection.
Hehas learnt a lot of cool tricks that he can use to help in his day-to-day life - he even knows how to file his own nails down on cue!
He will need understanding owners who have experience of rescue dogs and a good understanding dog body language.
He will thrive in a quiet adult-only home, with a maximum of two people in the home. Toby would like to be the only pet in the home and prefers less dog populated walking routes.
He travels beautifully in the car and is always excited for the next adventure, so this is a great benefit if his new family wish to take him exploring in rural locations.
It may take Toby a short while to form friendships, but once you've earned his trust, he'll make for a wonderfully loyal and interactive companion.
If you could offer Toby the devoted home he is looking for, or you would like to find out more about any of the other dogs at Dogs Trust Basildon, please visit www.dogstrust.org.uk/rehoming.
