A WICKFORD school has lived up to its “outstanding” Ofsted rating as pupils excel in their GCSE results.
Beauchamps High School revealed their five top performing students as they celebrate on GCSE results today.
Between five students at the Wickford school, they received 22 Grade 9’s, and 16 Grade 8’s.
Gail Randall, assistant headteacher at Beauchamps, said: “Congratulations to all our successful students who have worked so hard over the years – their perseverance and dedication has been rewarded with a superb set of results.

“Students have worked incredibly hard and have yet again shown themselves to be inspiring and motivated individuals; seeing the happy faces on results day was a fantastic moment for everyone to enjoy.
“We are particularly excited that high numbers of pupils have chosen to remain at Beauchamps High School and attend the 6th form, taking advantage of the range of A Level and BTEC courses which we are now offering.”
The five top performing students included Alfie Hargreaves, Lenny Worrall, Katie Cook, Lloyd Thurston, and Jasmine Snooks.
Alfie Hargreaves who received eight Grade 9’s and two Grade 8’s, is now going on to do Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry at Beauchamps Sixth Form.
He said he really couldn’t believe it when he opened his results.
Alfie, 16, said: “I really didn’t expect to do that well in all of them.
“I am so, so happy.
“It just shows hard work pays off in the end.”
Katie Cook, 16, cried with happy tears when she received her GCSE results of five Grade 9’s, three Grade 8’s and one Grade 7.
She said: “I am overwhelmed and just shocked.
“I would have probably cried if it was good or bad, but I am over-the-moon.
“I still can’t actually believe it; I am so happy.”
Jasmine Snooks, 16, added how it was tough to revise for GCSE’s through the pandemic but all her hard work has paid off.
She received three Grade 9’s, five Grade 8’s, and one Grade 7.
Jasmine said: “I am shaking.
“I never expected this at all.
“It was so tough and stressful working through the pandemic and having to learn online.
“But it shows all my hard work, and a lot of revision has paid off.”
