Dozens of motorists were stopped around Southend last night as officers targeted areas of concern.
Last night (September 7) special constables worked alongside Safer Essex Roads Partnership, using statistics to target driving offences at sites around Southend.
Officers patrolled four hotspot areas where 30 vehicles were stop checked in total.
The highest speed recorded was a 47mph in a 30mph as 14 tickets in total were issued for speeding.
Police also dealt with one car for having no MOT, a driver for possession of a controlled drug and another with no insurance.
One vehicle was seized during the patrols.
A spokesman for Essex Police in Southend said: "We're working hard to target driving offences and to reduce deaths on our roads.
"Traffic offences such as speeding are regularly mentioned at our local community meetings and we are targeting locations which are of concern to residents."
