A fast food chain's restaurant in Southend has closed its drive-thru a third time amid ongoing issues.

McDonald's in Eastern Avenue, Southchurch, closed to customers on Tuesday afternoon (September 6) due to some IT issues.

It had reopened yesterday morning but closed again in the evening.

A McDonald's spokesman confirmed the restaurant is experiencing "ongoing IT issues" and therefore had to close the drive-thru while this is being looked at.

The drive-thru was re-opened earlier today but with just one lane open and they were unable to serve hot drinks and bottled drinks.

However, Echo chief sports reporter Chris Phillips said there was a huge queue down the road at about 5pm as staff were getting ready to shut the gates again.

Customers are still welcome to dine in.
