Longstanding Old Leigh events have been cancelled this weekend as a mark of respect following the death of The Queen.
Old Leigh Shanty Festival and Old Leigh Regatta which draw huge crowds and see a large range of fun and entertainment will not take this place this weekend.
It comes after Buckingham Palace announced The Queen had died at Balmoral Castle yesterday afternoon.
A spokesman for the events posted on Facebook yesterday evening about the cancellation.
They said: "Following today's very sad news, we have agreed with our fellow organisers to cancel our events this weekend - Old Leigh Shanty Festival and Old Leigh Regatta.
"We would like to thank all the performers and stall holders for their patience and understanding, and the teams at the Crooked Billet, The Smack & The Mayflower for their help We would like to thank you, the public for your enthusiastic responses to the events - we'll be back with them as soon as we can!
"Finally we thank everyone who has worked so hard to deliver a fun weekend for the community: your efforts will not be wasted.
"We have built a strong team, made new friends and can continue to serve our community together. The end of one era - the start of another."
