SOUTHEND and Basildon hospitals are cancelling appointments and non-urgent procedures on the day of the Queen’s funeral.
Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust (MSE) which runs the two hospitals has confirmed it will be cancelling some appointments and procedures on the bank holiday (Monday, September 19).
However, bosses have assured patients that emergency services will resume as normal.
A spokesman for the trust said: “Emergency, urgent and cancer services, as well as some diagnostics, will continue to run as normal.
“Any patients whose outpatient appointment or planned procedure needs to be rescheduled will be contacted directly.”
Many hospital appointments have been cancelled across the U as a result of the recently declared bank holiday to mark Queen’s Elizabeth II’s funeral on Monday, September 19
