DARREN Smith will certainly stand out in the crowd of 37,000 runners at the London Marathon on Sunday after dying his hair pink especially for the event.
The 42-year-old, of Arterial Road, Rayleigh, hopes to raise more than £2,200 for the Havens Hospices.
The money will be split between Fair Havens, Westcliff, and Little Havens Children's Hospice, in Thundersley.
He said: "I'm raising money for Havens because my wife Karen's grandfather received excellent care there."
The father-of-three had his hair dyed bright pink at Hudsons barbers, in Rayleigh, ready for the big day.
