I have read the ludicrous and latest directive from Brussels, regarding pub customers and what they can call barmaids and barmen.
You cannot address them as dear, darling, sweetheart, babe, or any other endearing terms for fear of causing offence and risking a fine. Such terminology has been used for centuries.
I thank God, providence and the NHS that I have managed to live this long, in what was once a great country.
I despair for the future of my grandchildren as memories of that past are fading fast.
