TWO firefighters will be pounding the pavements on Sunday to help raise money for St Luke's Hospice.
Matt Pattison, 38, and Gary Baker, 35, are both based at Hadleigh fire station and will be taking part in their first marathon on Sunday.
Mr Pattison, of South Woodham Ferrers, said: "We've both been thinking about it since last year, but never really organised it.
"So Gary said to me, I've told everyone you're doing the marathon,' so, I turned round to him and said, That's funny because I've told everyone you're doing it with me'."
The pair will be aiming for a time under four hours.
