Another lucky developer is in for a bargain as Southend continues to sell off its assets cheaply.
The Maybrook training centre, extensively used by Southend residents, was closed down some years ago.
Had the council proposed housing development then there would have been uproar, so they waited until the dust settled.
And now there will be a development of umpteen flats with the buzz word affordable stuck on them.
I wonder if anyone who has had the pleasure of buying a so-called affordable house could inform us all?
Southchurch Road will soon be a continual line of blocks of flats.
£10,000 per flat from the developers would be a justifiable fee for placing extra vehicles on our gridlocked infrastructure. The fee could be ring-fenced for road improvement.
