The landscaping of the old bandstand site on Southend cliffs has been one small step in the right direction considering the negative impact of the cliff subsidence had upon the area.
While it was sad to see the removal of the majority of original building from the derelict site it was encouraging to see that two sections of the covered area were refurbished as shelters.
These two shelters look great and Southend Council should be commended on some imaginative thinking by not demolishing them as is the usual case, but bringing them back into use.
Both shelters have something missing or maybe they have a use that I have yet to understand?
Perhaps there not supposed to be shelters but a new art sculpture. Well for the moment it's simply, there are no seats or benches in these two shelters.
Given the lack of deckchair hiring in the area I reckon folk will have to bring their own and also a strong constitution as they're are no loos close by either. Nice views though!
