A FUNDRAISING campaign has been launched to help collect cash for improvements to Rayleigh's historic church.
Fourteenth century Holy Trinity Church needs to raise £350,000 for restoration work.
There will be a sponsored teddy parachute jump on Sunday, May 18, from 12.30 to 5.30pm where children are encouraged to sponsor a bear and watch as it glides from the top of the tower.
The proceeds from a Rayleigh History Day on Saturday, May 24 and a Tower Open Day on Bank Holiday Monday, May 26, will also add to the fund.
Assistant curate, the Rev Nick Rowan, said: "It is important we raise the funds to keep this historic church in good condition."
To help the cash appeal, call the parish office on 01268 742151 between 10am and 4pm.
