I was interested to read, on April 4, about environmental health inspectors checking food outlets across Basildon for standards of hygiene.
However, when I read the results, I was not impressed with one particular outcome.
I am a frequent visitor to the Bella Rossi ice cream cafe in Basildon Town Square, and was disgusted it had been given a no star rating.
In my opinion this place is absolutely spotless. I have always been impressed by its cleanliness. You could eat off the floor it is so clean.
I did see in the Echo on April 8, the inspectors admitted they were wrong about the Bella Rossi, but that information was not on the front page like the original story was.
I feel sorry for the staff and owner of the Bella as it is a very pleasant and friendly place. It did not deserve this publicity.
