A COUNCILLOR has pledged to increase the amount of recycling collected in Castle Point.
Ray Howard, cabinet member for waste and environment, was asked at a full council meeting why the borough did not have a pink bag recycling scheme.
It has been successfully introduced in Southend so householders can separate their rubbish at home.
Mr Howard said: "This council is committed to recycling and has a priority to increase the amount of recycling materials collected at the kerbside."
A working party has been set up to investigate whether a pink bag scheme can be introduced in the borough.
