The Tories in Southend think councillor Mike Royston and candidate Tony Borton are using the cause of trying to save the Warrior Square pool a blatant attempt to gain votes in the upcoming local elections.
So what? At least someone has highlighted the fact that many people do not want the pool to be taken out of town.
Considering the demo was held at noon there was quite a crowd - bearing in mind many swimmers would have been at work, school or college. Alas the picture in the Echo did not show many of the crowd - some having travelled from Rayleigh and other towns to support the pool they use.
In fact the photo made it look quite a pathetic gathering. Nevertheless, I hope the Echo continues to publicise our cause. Even people living near to Garons Park do not want such a small pool as planned and would still prefer to swim in Southend.
