A TOWN council's offices have been officially unveiled - six months after they opened.
Rayleigh town councillors moved into the offices, above the sports pavilion in the town's King George V Playing Field, in September last year.
At a ceremony, town council chairman Patricia Weaver unveiled the Rayleigh plaque to a packed council chamber.
Those present included Rochford district chairman Keith Gibbs and members of Rayleigh Chamber of Commerce, as well as town councillors.
Miss Weaver said: "This is a very proud day for Rayleigh Town Council.
"The rebuilding of what was a derelict sports pavilion was only possible by the hard work and dedication of town councillors and staff."
She thanked councillor Tony Humphries, who designed the building, for his hard work and keeping the project within budget. The pavilion's changing facilities, opened in March 2006.
All income raised by use of the premises, including town council's rent, goes into the King George V Trust, which looks after the field.
