A SCHOOL has been praised by Ofsted inspectors for the quality of its personal, social and health education.
The FitzWimarc School in Rayleigh was inspected in March and the inspectors also looked at the pupil's achievements.
In the report, they said: "Pupils know how to stay safe in difficult situations and who to go to for help.
"They understand the need to eat a balanced diet and the importance of exercise in keeping fit."
The report also stated students have a good understanding of sex and relationships education and were aware of the dangers of drug abuse, including alcohol and nicotine.
The inspectors rated the personal development of pupils as outstanding and they "particularly liked" the more active lessons involving role play.
Teachers' classroom management was also praised.
Headteacher Jim Fuller said: "I am pleased that pupils feel that they have a strong voice in the school and pupil-teacher relations are respectful"
