I noticed one morning some unpleasant graffiti daubed on the red-bricked wall of a block of flats on Canvey.
The words were written in white paint in letters 2ft high.
Neighbours told me someone in a car had stopped to take photographs of it, but it would have been far better if they had done something about it and reported it as I did.
I phoned Castle Point Council and spoke to a lady in the street scene department and within an hour, workers were there cleaning off the paint.
If we can't stop these people scrawling graffiti, we should be grateful that we have an efficient council which very quickly puts matters right.
