PUPILS will be able to get fit at a new gym at a Rayleigh School.
The FitzWimarc School, in Hockley Road, now has a fitness suite with machines and free weights.
The aim is to help pupils develop endurance, strength and cardio-vascular fitness.
Headteacher Jim Fuller, said: "The machines use up-to-the- minute technology and are every bit as good as the ones I use at my local gym.
"I am sure they will be popular with both pupils and staff.
"We hope in the future to open this outstanding facility to parents and members of the community in the evening and at weekends.
"In the meantime, all pupils and interested staff will be given an induction in the safe use of the machines. I am sure we will see the benefits for every pupil in the school and a renewed interest in health related fitness."
