On April 24, due to the teachers' strike, I went with my daughter and granddaughters aged four and six to Priory Park, Southend.
I was appalled at the number of dogs not on leads running about with their owners strolling far behind.
At one point, we went to feed the ducks. My fouryear- old granddaughter was holding a slice of bread, when a large dog tried to take it from her hands.
The owner appeared and apologised, but my point is, if the dog had been on a lead, this wouldn't have happened.
I am not objecting to dogs being taken to public places, but they should be kept on a lead.
