AN ART student has launched an ambitious project to get hundreds of people to capture a moment of London life on camera.
Anjuli Reeves, 22, from Westcliff, wants to get as many people as possible to take a photograph of any aspect of life in the Capital all at the same moment - at 12pm on Monday, May 12.
So far more than 300 people have volunteered to submit images for the project, called A London Moment.
Anjuli, a final year student at Chelsea College of Art and Design, said: "People can take photos of absolutely anything. It's whatever they're doing at the time, whether they're in an office, catching the Tube or even queueing for lunch.
"Hopefully, it will represent what's going on around London from that moment. Once I get all the pictures, I'll probably put them in a book.
"I will be putting out 5,000 flyers next week, so there's a lot of hard work ahead."
Once the pictures are taken, they can be e-mailed to Anjuli, sent to her phone or uploaded on to the Facebook social networking site.
Anjuli, a former pupil at Westcliff High School for Girls, from Hobleythick Lane, aims to explore the powers of advertising and communication through the project, which will form 50 per cent of her degree grade.
She said: "It's bringing people together. I was inspired by a 1982 photography book, called A Day In The Life Of London, when 100 photographers from different countries all came to London for 24 hours.
"They took photos of anything and everything and I've adapted from that idea.
"Anyone can take photos nowadays because everyone has a camera on their phone."
