MYSTERY as residents report 'bad' smell of smoke across areas in south Essex.
Residents have been left confused and concerned at the continuous smell of smoke in Southend this morning and last night.
Reports on social media suggest smoke can be smelt in areas such as Southchurch, Eastwood, Thorpe Bay, Shoebury and other parts of Southend.

It is currently unknown why a number of residents can smell smoke in the area; however, Essex Fire have been contacted by The Echo for comment.
