A THUG “armed with a metal pole” was involved in a fight in the street and threatened bystanders, with one witness claiming she was almost run over during the incident.
The fight, which also involved a man on a motorbike, occurred in Ness Road, Shoebury, on Tuesday.
A witness claims one of the men was armed with a metal pole with a chain attached to it, and that she had to jump into oncoming traffic to avoid being hit by the motorbike being ridden on the pavement.
Lydia White, 32, of Shoebury said: “I was waiting to cross the road when I heard shouting and a motorbike sped towards me.
“A guy between the ages of 20 and 25 years old and wearing a blue tracksuit ran past me after the motorbike, shouting and swearing.
“The motorbike then turned around and drove back towards me before driving off again; as this happened the guy in the blue tracksuit was with a girl who looked to be a little younger than him, and the girl was screaming, shouting and crying.
