The south Essex magistrates have been busy again with a range of cases.
Here's our latest round up of cases in front of the magistrates.
George Bailey, 28, of Chelmer Way, Shoebury was in court in connection with drug driving.
On March 10 in Southend he drove a motor vehicle, when the proportion of a controlled drug, namely Cocaine, in his blood, exceeded the specified limit.
He was fined £150, ordered to pay costs of £105 to the Crown Prosecution Service and he was disqualified for holding or obtaining a driving licence for three years.
It was also alleged that on the same day and in the town he allegedly drove a motor vehicle, when the proportion of a controlled drug, namely Benzolecgonine, in his blood, exceeded the specified limit.
This was withdrawn in favour of another offence.
Aaron Waymont, 34, of Vaughan Avenue, Southend was in court for arson.
On January 6 in Westcliff he committed arson in that without lawful excuse he destroyed by fire personal belongings to the value of unknown belonging to a woman intending to destroy or damage such property or being reckless as to whether such property would be destroyed or damaged.
A community was order made and he was ordered to participate in the thinking skills programme for 19 days, complete a maximum of 40 days of rehabilitation Activity Requirement and 80 hours unpaid work.
A restraining order made and he was ordered not to enter Kilworth Avenue, Southend. He was also ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £95, costs of £200 to the Crown Prosecution Service and an application was made for benefit deductions. The sum to be recovered is £295.
Daquan Francis, 19, of Parklands, Rochford was in court in connection with allegations of assault by beating.
It's alleged that on May 4 in Rochford he allegedly assaulted a woman by beating her.
He was remanded on bail until November 17 at Southend Magistrates Court for the trial. He was ordered not to contact directly or indirectly the victim.
Terry Brown, 44, of Ditton Court Road, Westcliff was in court in connection with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and theft.
On September 16 in Southend he assaulted a man thereby occasioning him, actual bodily harm.
He has indicated plea of guilty and was remanded on bail until October 17 at Southend Magistrates Court for a pre-sentence report to be prepared. He was ordered not to contact directly or indirectly the victim and not to enter Tesco Store Southchurch Road, Southend.
It's also alleged that on the same day and in the town he allegedly stole beer to the value of £33 belonging to Tesco.
He admitted this and was remanded on bail until October 17 at Southend Magistrates Court for a pre-sentence report to be prepared. He was ordered not to contact directly or indirectly the victim and not to enter Tesco Store Southchurch Road, Southend.
Alex Harris, 29, of Chalk End, Pitsea was in court for attending the address of a woman when he was prohibited from doing so.
Between July 21 and 27 in Southend without reasonable excuse, he attended the home address of a woman while she was present which he was prohibited from doing by a restraining order imposed by Basildon Crown Court.
He was committed to prison for 12 weeks suspended for 12 months, he was also ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £154, and pay costs of £145 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
He was also charged with commission of a further offence whilst subject to a conditional discharge order for a period of 12 months imposed at Chelmsford Magistrates Court.
There was no action taken on breach.
Sally Burrows, 47, was in court for stealing clothes from a shop.
On July 24 in Chelmsford she stole clothing, to the value of £119.91, belonging to H&M.
She was jailed for 4 weeks, she was also ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £154.
