Archie Battersbee's grieving mum says her family is being "targeted" by cruel trolls as she revealed a “mock noose” was left at her son’s grave.
Hollie Dance, from Southend, told the Echo she and her family are being "tormented" by online abuse as she claims sick trolls have even resorted to leaving items at her 12-year-old's grave.
Archie was at the centre of a legal battle before his life support was withdrawn on August 6.
Ms Dance has since been the target of online abuse and "death threats", she says.
“We are 100 per cent being targeted and I have even had death threats,” Ms Dance claimed.
“One of the worst things that has been done was somebody left a mock noose made out of plastic.
“They are absolutely tormenting the life out of us.”
She has also hit back at complaints made to Southend Council about a "party" held at the cemetery, calling them "nonsense".
Ms Dance says she put up the gazebo on Friday to spend her birthday at Archie’s grave, despite the heavy rain forecast for the day.
She explained: “There have been complaints that we were playing music, which we did not do at any point, and we have been accused of partying, eating and drinking.
“If you call a Starbucks coffee and a box of milk chocolates that somebody bought me for my birthday ‘partying’, then we are guilty. Otherwise it’s nonsense.”
The gazebo has since been taken down.
