Four teenagers from across south Essex have been arrested after two people were stabbed in Basildon town centre.
Officers received reports shortly after 3pm yesterday (October 4) that two people sustained stab wounds in the St Martins Square area.
A search of the area was swiftly carried out, resulting in the quick arrest of four teenagers.
A 14 year-old boy from Basildon was arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent and possession of a knife or bladed article.
A 13 year-old boy from Basildon was arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent, ABH, and possession of an offensive weapon.
A 17 year-old boy from Leigh was arrested on suspicion of GBH without intent and possession of an offensive weapon.
And a 16 year-old boy from Southend was arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.
All four has since been released on bail until 27 October.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "Additional high visibility patrols are taking place in the area to provide reassurance to the public.
"If you have any information or CCTV, dash cam or any other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us.
"Please quote incident 704 of 4 October."
