A man has died in hospital after an assault at a Basildon social club.
The man in his 30s was restrained on the floor while he was kicked to the face and hit with a chair at the Winston Social Club in Northumberland Avenue on August 12.
The victim of the assault was taken to hospital where, sadly, they later died.
Essex Police have stated there is no causal link between the assault and the man's death.

A spokesman for the force said: "A forensic post-mortem examination was carried out and established there was no causal link between the assault and the man’s death."
Police have appealed for anyone with any information or footage in relation to the incident to get in contact with them, quoting the crime reference number 42/215305/22.
