A POPULAR ride at Adventure Island has been scrapped as they make room for “bigger and better projects”.
The Dodgems at Adventure Island, in Southend, have now departed after more than 40 years at the theme park.
The popular attraction was loved by many visitors who took to social media to share their disappointment.
It is comes after plans have been unveiled to install a huge new viewing platform and ‘big wheel’ within Adventure Island.
A spokesman for Adventure Island said: “It is with a heavy heart that we announce the departure of our Dodgems.
“It has been a classic attraction and loved by so many over the past 40 years.
“We are sad to see them go.
“However, don’t worry because this will make room for bigger and better projects.
“Watch the space.”
