A BUS caught fire in Basildon this morning, with residents evacuated from the vehicle before it burst into flames.
Videos and images from the scene showed a burnt out First Bus at the bus stop at the end of Great Knightey's, in Laindon.
The bus caught fire at roughly 9am this morning, with emergency services attending and a cordon put in place around the bus.
According to witnesses, everyone was evacuated from the bus before it burst into flames.

A spokesman for the bus firm stated that it is believed the fire was caused by an electrical fault.
A First Bus Spokesperson said: "One of our buses sustained a fire this morning, we believe it may be due to an electrical fault, however investigations are still underway. No passengers or the driver were hurt."
Essex Fire have been contacted for comment.
