Halloween is edging closer now, and what better way to get in the spirit of the season by picking out your own pumpkin.

If you live around Southend then there are several options that you can go to around South Essex for this task.

These range from simple patches to entire family days out in their own right, so a perfect autumnal activity for the whole family.

Here are a few of the options you can visit in October to get a pumpkin to carve before October 31.

Southend pumpkin patches for Halloween 2022

Foxes Farm Produce

Address: Watch House Farm, Wash Rd, Basildon SS15 4ER

Foxes Farm Produce operates one of the largest pumpkin patches in Essex and will have pick-your-own pumpkins available on October 15-16 and 17-31.

Opening times are from 9am to 5pm, with the last entry to the patch being at 4pm.

Alongside the pumpkins, there will be food stalls, face painting and photo opportunities around the site.

Additionally, there will be lots of traditional games including tug of war, drainpipes, giant twister, welly swinging and mini tractors.

Pumpkin Picking Village near Marsh Farm

Address: Marsh Farm Road, South Woodham Ferrers, CM3 5WP.

The Pumpkin Picking Village in South Woodham Ferrers is a large site that offers SEN and dog-friendly pumpkin-picking sessions.

Your ticket to the event gives you access to the field and several photo opportunities around the site.

Additionally, there are several evening slots for pumpkin picking where there will also be fun fair rides to go on.

Lathcoats Farm

Address: Lathcoats Farm, Beehive Lane, Galleywood, CM2 8LX

Lathcoats Farm is located near Chelmsford and will be running its pick-your-own pumpkin session from Saturday, October 15.

You'll be able to pick your own pumpkins as well as carve them on-site if you wish. There is also a Halloween Hunt to take part in as an additional activity also.

Hurley's Pumpkin Forest

Usually Hurley's Christmas Tree Farm, but it is transformed into Hurley's Pumpkin Forest for the Halloween season.

They are thousands of pumpkins to pick out, with the site offering peak, off-peak and twilight picking slots.
