A SPORTING village swimming pool has closed with immediate effect due to “unforeseen circumstances”.

The Basildon Sporting Village closed their main pool yesterday afternoon with immediate effect.

The pool still remains closed with no update since.

Currently there is no reason why the pool has been closed apart from being due to “unforeseen circumstances”.

A spokesman for Basildon Sporting Village apologised for the inconvenience caused.

In a statement on social media yesterday, Basildon Sporting Village said: “Main pool closure.

“Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances we have had to shut the main pool with immediate effect, and it will remain closed all day and evening.

“Anyone with swimming lessons or booked swimming sessions in the Main pool only will be contacted.

“The teaching pool will remain open as normal, and lessons are not affected.

“Sorry for any inconvenience caused.”
