The force says its enquiries into the incident and the circumstances surrounding it are ongoing.

Detective Superintendent Rob Kirby said: “Our fast-paced investigation has identified a number of lines of enquiry which detectives are following.

“While we are not able to specifically share what those lines are, I can say that at this stage we believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no wider threat to anyone in York Road.

“At this stage we continue to appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident, has footage of it or has information on it to please come forward.

“A number of people have already come forward to provide their accounts, for which we’re grateful, but equally we know there are people out there who will also have information for us.
