Police had the "element of surprise" as officers silently broke into a Southend address this morning.

Officers from Essex Police's operational support group say two people were arrested in connection with conspiracy to supply a class A substance after a raid this morning.

The team broke down the door of an address in the city using a hydraulic rabbit tool, which they say gave them a "silent entry".

They tweeted: "A silent entry to this address with the hydraulic rabbit tool gave us the element of surprise required."

A 34 year old male and a 26 year old female both from Southend have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply a class A substance, police have said.
