A ROAD in Southend remains closed more than 12 hours on after a huge burst water main.
Priory Crescent at A1159 Eastern Avenue remains closed this morning as work continues.
A huge burst water main occurred last night, leaving water flooding the road, with many houses believed to be impacted too.
According to AA Traffic news the road remains closed this morning due to ongoing work following the burst water main on “Priory Crescent One Way Street from Priory Avenue to A1159 Eastern Avenue”.

On the Essex and Suffolk Water website in the area it says “no water and low pressure” with an unplanned water disruption.
The Echo has contacted the company for a statement.z
It is still unknown what caused the burst water main.
A spokesman from Essex Fire and Rescue Service added: “We are currently dealing with a burst water main in Southend.
“Priory Close is closed and we are asking residents to avoid the area while our crews are working at the scene.
“Thank you for your cooperation.”
