New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to five Southend and Basildon establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

The scheme gives businesses a rating from five to zero, with five being hygiene standards are very good, and zero being urgent improvement is required.

Here are the establishments in Southend and Basildon that have been awarded a new hygiene rating this week.

Southend:

EKCO Sports And Social Club, at Ekco Social And Sports Club, Thornford Gardens, Southend-On-Sea, Essex was handed a four-out-of-five rating after assessment on September 15.

The Board Game Hut, at 10 - 12 Clarence Street, Southend-On-Sea, Essex was also given a score of four on September 15.

Magic Monkey, at 119 Broadway, Leigh-On-Sea, Essex was handed a four-out-of-five rating after assessment on September 9.

Nagawa, at 2 Queens Road, Southend-On-Sea, Essex was given a score of one on September 9.

Basildon:

The Coach and Horses, a pub, bar or nightclub at 36 Chapel Street, Billericay, Essex was given the score after assessment on September 15, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.
