A SOUTH Essex MP has said former Prime Minister was on “good form” after a meeting with MPs this morning.

Sir James Duddridge, MP for Rochford and Southend East has claimed Boris Johnson had a meeting with MPs at 8am this morning.

The south Essex MP has already confirmed he will be backing the former Prime Minister in the leadership contest.

Sir James added that Boris was dressed “rather smartly” and that he will cooperate fully with a standards committee probe over Partygate.

In a tweet, he said: “Boris on good form at the 8am meeting with MPs.

“In a first for Boris, he was rather smartly dressed.

“He made it very clear the privileges committee must and will be allowed to get on with their process.

“He will cooperate fully.

“G8 2c, the boss reached out to the other camps.”

Boris Johnson is still yet to officially confirm he is standing for Prime Minister in the leadership race, but returned home to the UK soon after Liz Truss’ resignation.
