A MAJOR road has been closed in both directions due to a crash during rush hour this morning.

The A129 Rayleigh, which sits between the A13 and A127, is closed due to a RTC.

Traffic is already building in the surrounding area.

AA Traffic News says the “road is closed and there is queuing traffic due to a crash on A129 Rayleigh Road, Northbound, from Daws Heath Road (Woodmans Arms) to A127 Southend Arterial Road (Rayleigh Weir).

It is unknown the seriousness of the crash yet, but reports suggest police are already on the scene. 

Emergency services have been contacted for comment.
