It will include cargo flights that depart in the evening and land in the early hours three times a week, providing essential global connectivity.
This comes after the Amazon night flights at Southend Airport stopped in mid-September after a “change of strategic focus”.
John Upton, CEO of London Southend Airport said: “This operation will provide welcome additional business during the coming Winter period. It will also mean we can continue to use the excellent facilities and expertise that we developed over recent years as part of our continuing plans to grow our logistics channel.
“We remain thankful for the ongoing support of our local community, and we will continue to engage through our various forums to listen and update on progress as our business builds back.”
