A spokesman for Essex Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews rescued two people from flood water at Buttsbury Wash.
We were called to the road, between Ingatestone and Billericay, today at 8.05am after a vehicle got stuck in the flooded road.
Crews from Brentwood and Leigh attended and used a water rescue sled to bring two people, who couldn't get to safety themselves and were distressed, to dry land at 9.06am.”
Crews also attended Buttsbury Wash on Sunday, at 8:54pm after three vehicles got stuck.
Jason Gould, station manager, said: “If you see flood water, turn around and find another route.
“Remember just 2ft of water is enough to float a car.
“If there has been heavy rain or thunderstorms are forecast, plan your journey and be prepared.”
