A WOMAN who built her business selling vintage clothes in Camden market during the 90s has opened her first store.

Bianca Brady, 48, has been flogging clothes for 30 years, running a mobile stall working out of Camden, Pitsea , Southend, and most recently Wickford.

Today (Monday, November 14), the former Central Saint Martin’s fashion student opened her first ever permanent store in Rayleigh Lanes indoor market.

Bianca’s Boutique, a “dream come true” for Bianca, sells Italian clothing and boutique knitwear, with a focus on providing plus size women access to the same clothing as smaller-sized women.

“I started out selling vintage to other stalls and dealers,” Ms Brady said, explaining her unique backstory.

“ Back in the 90s people in this part of Essex thought vintage was just old rubbish, so I would take it to Camden and sell to people there as well as a few Japanese dealers as it was massive in Tokyo at the time,” she recalled.

“From there I just built up my business, sourcing clothes and selling them at various markets across Southend and Basildon from my stall.”

After many years of grinding away, Ms Brady has now opened her first ever permanent store.

“It is such a great feeling to finally have this place that is mine, where my loyal customers can come and find me when they want something new to wear,” she said.

“I have built a big customer based by doing what other boutique outlets don’t, I make sure to stock a lot of plus sizes.

“I go up to a size 30 in some lines, and this is still boutique clothing that usually you would only find in smaller sizes.”

She added: “I have something for everyone shown by the fact I have different generations from the same family buy from me – a granddaughter, daughter, mum and nan who all love what I sell.”

Ms Brady has pledged to keep running her travelling stall at Rayleigh High Street Market on Wednesdays, Southend High Street on Thursday and Wickford High Street on Saturdays.

The Rayleigh Lanes boutique is open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 4.30pm.
