A MAJOR road in Westcliff is set to shut for the day next week as works to replace a manhole cover take place.

Westbourne Grove, in Westcliff, will be closed on November 22, from 9:30am until 3:30pm while works are carried out.

The offer will prohibit any vehicle from proceeding on Westbourne Grove from its junction with Fairfax Drive to its junction with Westborough Road.

The suspension of the one-way traffic system on Westbourne Grove from its junction with Fairfax Drive to its junction with Westborough Road, allowing residential access.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while the breakout and replacement of a manhole cover and frame works takes place.

Access for emergency vehicles, residents, and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.

The alterative route for vehicles will be via Fairfax Drive, Westminster Drive, Westborough Road, and Westbourne Grove.

Or Fairfax Drive, Victoria Avenue, West Street, West Road, and London Road.
