HUGE ramps are being installed at the new skatepark on Leigh Marshes, which is expected to open within weeks.
The £280,000 park and youth facility will include basketball nets, football pitches and shelters for teenagers to enjoy.
The project was initiated by Leigh Town Council, with the help of a £150,000 National Lottery grant and £20,000 from Southend youth council's Fix-It Fund.
Peter Dolby, Leigh Town councillor for St Clement's, said: "We are on schedule for mid-June completion, so that's not that far away.
"These ramps are colossal. They are made in Germany and are concrete structures sent to a German port for shipping over to Dover and then packed up by the guys this end from Dover and put into low loaders for delivery here."
