A PLUSH new restaurant on Southend seafront which had its opening delayed by at least three months, is set to be delayed further.
Zinnia is a restaurant and cocktail bar part of a £125 million development in Southend’s Western Esplanade.
The venue was set to open alongside the apartments in September, but bosses blamed construction delays at the time while stressing: “They are on site building it.”
James Struth, managing director at Clifftown Shore, had said the aim was to "get it open by Christmas".
However, a spokesman for Elysium Group told the Echo today that it hopes to have a firm opening date in the new year.
They said they have nothing to update "at present".
The Clifftown Shore project has been years in the making, built on the site of the old Esplanade pub and the Marriott’s fish restaurant next door.
Alongside the apartments, there is a gym and secure parking.
The new restaurant will offer food lovers a menu designed around the culinary fusions of North and South America, the Polynesian islands, eastern Asia, and Australia.
