A teenager who was found with a "large machete" in a city centre road has been handed a suspended sentence.
Ervin Gashi, 19, was in Whitegate Road in Southend in the early hours of 2am on June 12 when he was caught in possession of a machete.

The teenager, of Rushley Close, Great Wakering, admitted the offence on September 26 and was given a 8 months prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, on November 2.
He must also carry out unpaid work for 200 hours within the next twelve months.
Gashi has been ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £156 and prosecution costs of £145.
